In Durban on the east coast of South Africa, the new, futuristic Moses Mabhida Stadium is currently being built for the 2010 Football World Cup.
In addition to the highly modern indoor stage, the stadium will include a sports museum and an athletic institute. 
The breathtaking stadium, which is covered by a 100 meter high arch made of steel, has room for 70,000 spectators.
TROX is supplying not only fire dampers for the safety of the spectators, but it is also providing a pleasant climate in the stadium.
To meet the comfort requirements of large halls, the owner decided on swirl diffusers of the VDL series, which provide an optimum distribution of warm and cool air in the comfort zone due to changes in the slat adjustment.
Due to the worldwide energy shortage and ongoing discussion about the climate, increasingly energy-efficient solutions in the area of heating, cooling, and ventilation technology are also in demand in South Africa. Thanks to innovative solutions, TROX was able to meet these requirements with its components and systems.
